International Sports day – Esports

Apr 6, 2021 | IEC Activities, Press Release

We all want the pandemic to end so we can get back to the things we love, for us, two of those things are sports & esports. Together we have the power to end the pandemic faster – but only if people around the world can get a vaccine. #OnlyTogether can we end the pandemic and play again.

Sports has the power to change the world; it is a fundamental right, a powerful tool to strengthen social ties and promote sustainable development and peace and well as solidarity, and respect. Esports and traditional sports share many similarities and benefits.

Due to the nature of esports and online gaming, you are exposed to a new way of meeting people who live further away from you. Esports brings together a diverse mixture of people from different communities, backgrounds, religions, and beliefs. This is especially important for young people to widen their horizons.

Like traditional sports, esports teaches teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and discipline, all valuable skills that can develop people, and especially younger people.

Due to COVID-19, participating in traditional sports has become riskier. Esports allows everyone to participate from the comfort of their own home. Everyone can connect with each other online to compete in esports without risking the spread of COVID.

We are the “INTERNATIONAL ESPORT COMMITTEE”, abbreviated as “IEC”, an international non-profit association established to structure a digital Global Unity. Our head office (Headquarters) is in Brussels. We are advocates of Competitive Games, Entrepreneurship, New Technological Breakthroughs, the expansion of simple video games to even more multilayered and complex concepts and notions (with the addition of future tech such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and gamification attributes of every aspect of the human capacity). IEC is established to emerge as the driver and instigator of social human evolution. IEC aims to bring together private and public sectors, big conglomerates, academic institutions, investors, scientists & distinguished people from every aspect of human activity and via simple gamification, educational, entertaining, scientific, and socially inclusive paradigm shifts via IEC’s platforms to have a very positive impact in the whole world.
